Georgia Ellen Thompson Gause, 94, of Stockton died May 1, 2012. She was born the third of six children to Jessie Lowery Thompson and Cecil Agnew Thompson Sr. in Stapleton.

After graduating from Baldwin County High School she attended Bob Jones University in Cleveland, Tenn., Livingston State Teachers College (now the University of West Alabama) and earned a teacher’s certificate at Troy State University. At Livingston, she was a member of their first cheerleading squad and was elected as the first Miss Livingston STC.

 She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Hastie Gause, and an infant son.

 She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Clint (Georgene) Conner, Bay Minette; her granddaughter, Georgia Ann Conner, Greenville, S.C.; brothers, Albert Marina Thompson and Cecil Agnew (Sonny) Thompson, Jr., both of Bay Minette; sister, Joy Imogene Cook, Daphne, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were May 5 at Stockton Presbyterian Church with internment following at Stockton Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Women of the Stockton Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 438, Stockton, AL 36579.

Pallbearers were Ronald Waters, Kenneth Waters, Albert Thompson, Thomas Cook, Matthew Cook, Timothy Turpen, Robert Minsheull and Warren Minsheull.
