Gerald George Cooper, 60, a native of Bay Minette, and a resident of Stapleton, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Biloxi, Miss.
He was a fitter at the Alabama Shipyard and he was also a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Cooper and a brother Joel Cooper.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Wade (Victoria) Cooper of Stapleton; daughter, Skye Cheyenne Cooper of Rabun; his mother, Gladys R. Cooper of Rabun; brother, Thomas Ray Cooper of Rabun; sister, Sherry Marie Cooper of Rabun; three grandchildren, Taylor LeeAnn Cooper of Bay Minette, Taylor Renee Key of Collinsville, Texas, and Timothy Lee Kelly Jr. of Mobile.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, April 28 at New Life Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29 at the church with the Rev. Otis Thames officiating. Burial will follow at New Life Cemetery.
