Gerald Richard DeVuyst, 87, recently of Niceville, Fla., passed away on May 29, 2015.
He was born Nov. 30, 1927 to Peter and Magdalene DeVuyst in Palmyra, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sara.
He is survived by his son, Peter Richard and his wife of Niceville, Fla.; a grandson, Grant and his wife of Juneau, Alaska; and a granddaughter, Gretchen Helbling and her husband of Seattle, Wash.
Gerald was a Navy veteran of WWII. He worked in the space program during its heyday, and was responsible for stopping a faulty rocket launch.
He left record of his commitment to Christ.
