Geraldine Stalknaker Kernells, 86, born in Anderson, S.C. and a resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Oakwood Nursing Home.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Julie (Craig) Paterson of Hattiesburg, Miss., Janet Rustchak of Pensacola, Ed (Kathy) Kernells of Stockton and Byron K. Kernells of Satsuma; a brother, Sloan Edward (Betty) Stalknaker of Anderson, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Carney, Jon Mark Carney, David (Emily) Carney, Craig Paterson Jr., Elizabeth Bracey, Chuck Kernells, Brandon (Haley) Kernells, Timmy (Myca) Brooks, George (Candy) Paterson, Mary (Patrick) McGown, Montana Williams, Shanna Bryars and Amber Lacoste; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Carney and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating, and a tribute by Dr. Craig Paterson.
Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Craig Paterson Jr., David Carney, Daniel Byars, Timmy Brooks, Chuck Kernells and Brandon Kernells.
