Ethel Rigby Gibbs, 90, a native of Bratt, Fla., former resident of Atmore and a resident of Daphne, died Thursday, March 11, 2010.
She was a member of and volunteer at Daphne Unithed Methodist Church for over 40 years, where she was active in the Happy Hearts Club. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Catherine Place Assisted Living for the compassionate care of their mother for the past 26 months.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold “Jake” Gibbs and eight of her nine siblings, including her beloved twin sister, Estelle Liles.
Survivors include a son, Nick (Kathy) Gibbs of Mandeville, La.; daughter, Jane (Jeff) Parish of Vernon, Fla.; four grandchildren: Carrie (Patrick) Klein of Arlington, Va., Beau Gibbs of Huntsville, Maggie Gibbs of Orlando, Fla., Jacob Parish of Vernon, Fla.; one great-grandson, Kellen Klein of Arlington, Va.; and a host of other loving relatives.
Visitation begins at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 16 from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
