John W. Gladden Jr., born Oct. 22, 1942 in Birmingham, a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009.
He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served his country from 1960 to 1982.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Gladden Sr. and Mildred D. Gladden, and a sister, Carolyn Marshall.
Survivors include his wife, Lavada Gladden; three children, Windie (Dustin) Franklin, Jeffrey (Penny) Pippin and Jennifer (John) Smith; and five grandchildren, Laurinda, Ashleigh, Sheryl, Joni and Nathan.
Funeral services and visitation were held Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Pine Rest Funeral Home. Burial followed at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
