Gladyn “Buster” Roberts

Gladyn “Buster” Roberts, 78, a native of Rabun, and a resident of Lottie, died Friday, April 27, surrounded by his family.

He was retired from the Alabama State Docks after 38 years of service as an International Longshoreman. 

 He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annette (Presley) Roberts, Lottie; children, Dale (Sylvia) Roberts, Perdido, Terry (Christy Frazier) Roberts, Lottie, Brenda Roberts (Jeff) Parker, Rabun, and Patsy Roberts (Shane) Chastang, Pine Grove; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Wanda) Roberts, Elesanor; three sisters, Gladys Cooper and her daughter Sherry, Rabun, Ruth Adams, Rabun, and Linda Boyington, Stapleton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Verlon Roberts and Wesley Roberts, and one sister Joyce Henry. The funeral service will be Monday, April 30, at 4 p.m. at Lottie Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow at Presley Cemetery in Lottie. The family will receive friends Monday, April 30, from 1 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. service at Lottie Baptist Church. Although the family will accept flowers they suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 19059 Greeno Road, Suite A, Fairhope, AL 36532.
