FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Don’t miss First Friday Artwalk in downtown Fairhope tonight from 6-8 p.m.
Rene Culler featured at USA Baldwin: The University of South Alabama Baldwin County will feature the glass art of Rene Culler, USA Glass Program Coordinator, at the April First Friday Art Walk. Culler’s show includes sculptural work from her “Grail Variations” series based on the Tarot, and blown work from the “Painted Pots” series inspired by ancient Egyptian and Roman core vessels. The show will be from 6-8 p.m. in the Administration Building of the USA Baldwin County Campus, 10 North Summit Street.
Rene Culler's work is in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Art, the Smithsonian, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Museo de Arte en Vidrio, Spain, and in many private and corporate collections including the Cleveland Clinic, Forest City Enterprises, and Robert Woods Johnson Hospital. Culler recently returned from South Korea, where she worked in glass, as a Senior Research Fulbright Fellow. Her work inspired by Korean culture was shown in a one person exhibition in Seoul. Culler also authored a book, "Glass Art From the Kiln." Culler says she is very excited to have her work featured at the First Friday Art Walk in Fairhope.
Abstract art to Folk at the Eastern Shore Art Center: Join the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope for an amazing Art Walk with everything from Abstract to Folk art on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
Abstract Show: Featuring artists JoAnn Cox, Sarah Otts, Joy Gardner, Jerome Fisher, Susan Godwin, and Faye Earnest. "Meanders" Paintings by Susan Downing-White. Returning exhibits: "Wood & Stone, Sand & Sea" by Lonnie Rich and "The Sweet Hand of Mystery" Folk art by Lucy Hunnicutt. Refreshments will be served as well as live entertainment provided by Dr. Jazz. The event is free but donations are welcomed.
