Glen Hawthorne, 87, a longtime resident of Daphne and a charter member of Eastern Shore Baptist Church, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Thomas Hospital.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a former union representative.
Glen took great joy in building furniture for his family, friends and his church.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; three sons, David (Denise) Hawthorne of Chicago, Ill., Alan (Terry) Hawthorne of Minneapolis, Minn. and Sidney (Vanessa) Hawthorne of Roswell, Ga.; a daughter, Wanda (Ed) Mosher of Daphne; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Janis H. (Robert) Cassibry; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Eastern Shore Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
