Glenn Vickery placed on paid administrative leave

DAPHNE, Ala.—Daphne athletic director and head football coach Glenn Vickery was placed on paid administrative leave according to a statement released by Baldwin County Board of Education officials on Saturday morning.

BCBE superintendent Eddie Tyler stated that the leave was pending a human resources department review, related to Board of Education policies and procedures.

“It’s important that no preliminary conclusions be made or speculated and allow the review process to be conducted thoroughly,” said Tyler. “This is all the information we can share at this time.”

Vickery took over the Daphne AD and head football coaching position in 2004. He led the Trojans to the Class 6A state title game twice in his 11 seasons. DHS claimed the championship in 2010 and took the runner-up trophy in 2005. Vickery has a 107-41 record at Daphne. He also coached at Davidson for four years prior to Daphne and earlier at Mobile Christian for 15 years.
