Gloria June Parker, 80, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010.
She was born the third child of Claud Howard and Hattie Laura Brown. Her youth was spent in Greenwood, S.C. She married and raised her family in Pensacola, Fla. The last 29 years of her life were spent surrounded by family in Foley, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She lived her life serving the Lord and Saviour and was completely devoted to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Ronald Duane, Donald, Lee and Michael.
Survivors include her husband and love of her life, Arnold Howard Parker; five children, Wanda (Chuck) Dement, Buz (Penny) Parker, Pamela (Steve) Bitowf, Tamela (Jim) Brown and Kimberly (Terry) Wilder; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Jackson; and brothers, Harold Brown and Stanley Brown.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Community Hospice, which was there faithfully these last months.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at her home. All extended family and friends are invited to come celebrate her life.
