John Mitchell Godwin, 59, a native of Baldwin County and a resident of Loxley, died Friday, March 26, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years with one year tour in Vietnam and he owned and operated John Godwin Heating & Air for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Godwin of Loxley; daughter, Sara Godwin of Bay Minette; two sons, Michael Godwin of Mobile and John Godwin of Jacksonville, N.C.; one step-son, Travis LaCoste of Rosinton; his mother, Addie Lee Godwin of Loxley; sister, Carol Nimrod of Loxley; three brothers, Lonnie Greer Godwin of Wilcox, Barry Godwin of Robertsdale and Stanley Godwin of Silverhill; and two grandchildren, Abigail and Melia Godwin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at Loxley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley.
Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
