FAIRHOPE — Baldwin County Humane Society’s annual pet photo contest ends on Monday with final voting ending on Tuesday.

This is the second year for the fundraiser. The pet photo calendar contest was a big success last year.

“In 2012, BARC was very successful with our first pet photo calendar fundraiser,” said Karen Ignatz, Executive Director of BARC. “People submitted terrific photos of their beautiful pets and it showed in each month of the calendar.”

For a $250 donation, one large photo will appear on the top page for each month for a total of 13 large prints. Those pictures will include the rescue story or description. Two medium sized pictures will appear on the left side of the top page for a donation of $125. Three smaller pictures will appear on the bottom page, along with the calendar, for a $75 donation.

Photos may contain one or more pets but no people should be in the picture. Multiple entries are accepted, but it must be for different pets. This year the photos are open to any household pet including rabbits, ferrets, birds or even a horse.

The 2013 calendar will be a full-color glossy calendar with 73 pet pictures. Each picture will include the name of the pet and the owner. Thirteen pictures will compete for the front cover and voting will determine the winner.

BARC encourages people to vote for their own pet pictures if they want to. Voting costs $1 for each vote. Final voting will be in-person Tuesday at Southern NAPA in Daphne starting at 7 p.m.

Votes will instantly post to the 13 pictures competing for the front cover on a big screen TV. At 8:30 the winner will be announced and be crowned Pet Cover Photo for the 2012 calendar.

Contact BARC for more information at 306 Magnolia Avenue in Fairhope or by phone at 928-4585.
