Goldie Frances Matthews, 93, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Ga.
Born Nov. 1, 1916 in Evergreen, she was the daughter of Walter and Hattie Riley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dewitt Matthews; and two infant sons, Walter Edmond and William Demond.
Survivors include two sons, Glen (Jackie) Matthews and Bernie (Deborah) Matthews; a daughter, Nita (Al) Schillaci; six grandchildren, Darlene (Steve) Davidson, Michelle (Rob) Brethauer, Regina (Shawn) Moore, Angela (Zac) Real, Ryan (Erika) Lopresti, and John Matthews; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Cope Funeral Home, Evergreen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemeter. A reception will be held after the burial at Bowen Caldwell Hall, United Methodist Church, Evergreen.
