Good Shepherrd Lutheran School Grandparent/Special Friend Day

Good Shepherd Lutheran School celebrated Grandparent/Special Friend Day on Thursday, March 15th from 9:00am-11:30am, as part of our month long celebration for National Lutheran Schools Week, with a reception in St. Mark's fellowship hall. Spring time decorations were made by our kindergarten teacher, Jill Meszaro. Colorful children's handprint flower placemats, ducks and buzzing bees (made from painted paper plates, toilet paper rolls and construction paper) along with colorful balloons that decorated each table. Pastor Keith Ringers of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Elberta, lead us in prayer. A special cake, commemorating National Lutheran Schools Week, was cut and served with ice cream and refreshments, and we had a wonderful time of fellowship. Next we went to St. Mark's Church for Chapel with Pastor Ryan Cramer of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Foley. He explained how God gives us a "lifetime guarantee" with no strings attached. That guarantee is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for us and freed us from all our sins, with the promise of eternal life to all who believe in Him. The children sang a few special songs, and then we gathered back to the fellowship hall where we took individual pictures with the children and their guests. After pictures we returned to the classrooms for special crafts, puppet shows and fun with guests.
