Grace Evelyn Shepard, 96, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012. She was a native of Foley where she was the last charter member of Vernant Park Baptist Church.
Ms. Shepard was also a long time active volunteer at South Baldwin Hospital in Foley.
Ms. Shepaerd was preceded in death by her parents; Harry and Grace Williams; husband Lloyd Shepard, son Maxwell Shepard, granddaughterVicki Flowers; and five sisters Camilla Shepard, Eva Sinder, Dorothy Tillmon, Luella Mae Williams and Leona Frakes.
She is survived by two daughters, Deloris (Max) Russell, Foley, and Marilynn (David) Russell, Foley; one brother Harry (Ester) Williams, Foley; nine grandchildren; Re'nee (Keith) Wilson, Doug Shepard, Kevin (Kathy) Shepard, Danny ( Pat) Russell, William (Teresa) Russell, Wade (Katrina) Russell, Jason (Kelly) Russell, Darrell (Michelle) Russell and Aaron (Susan) Russell; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Shepard were May 7, 2012 at Vernant Park Baptist Church. Burial was at Vernant Park Baptist Church Cemetery. The family has requested that memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to Vernant Park Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 12889 Vernant Church Road Foley, AL 36535 or a charity
