Grace J. Ussery, 89, a native of Scranton, Pa. and resident of Daphne for the last 28 years, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church, she chartered the Red Hatters “Jubilee Belles” and was a volunteer at Thomas Hospital.
Grace is survived by her husband, Clyde P. Ussery of Daphne; one daughter, Sharon A. Hulon of Fairhope; one son, Marvin (Sally) Ussery of Daphne; three grandchildren, Heidi Hulon, Brian (Stephanie) Hulon and Amy (Michael) Bartimus; five great-grandchildren, Spencer Joseph Shipman, Evan Chandler Shipman, Noah Thomas Byrd, Harrison Paul Byrd and Lillian Grace Hulon; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8888 Hwy. 64, Daphne.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort. She will be the first veteran’s spouse buried there.
