Grady Lewis Blackwell, 78, a native of Duffee, Miss. and a resident of Fairhope passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.
He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairhope, a member of the Gear Jammers Antique Car Club, an Alabama State Constable and he retired from the Alabama Army National Guard.
Grady is survived by his loving wife, Nancy J. Blackwell of Fairhope; his daughter, Nancy Renee (Alan) Browning of Fairhope; son, Gregory Lewis (Melissa Nichole) Blackwell of Mobile; sister, Irene MassengaleĀ of Freeny, Miss.; grandchildren, Nancy Elizabeth Browning, Caitlyn Nicole Blackwell andĀ Cole Gregory Blackwell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at 2 p.m., from the Fairhope chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. His family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to service time.
Interment will be at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairhope building fund, 300 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
