Gregory “Greg” Edward Mais, 51, born in Quincy, Ill. and a resident of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was a designer at Quincy Compressor for 25 years and later a security supervisor at the Eastern Shore Centre.
He was the president of the Bay Minette Civic Club for many years where he was active in heading fundraisers and civic events in Bay Minette and north Baldwin County.
He is survived by his wife, Kristi (Preston) Mais of Bay Minette; a daughter, Shelby Rebekah Mais of Bay Minette; his mother, Evelyn Mais of Bay Minette; two sisters, Karen Mais (Zac) Jones of Bay Minette and Lynn Mais (Jerry) Palmer of Quincy, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Mais; and his grandparents, Robert Mais, Florence Mais, Aloy Frankenhoff and Agnes Frankenhoff.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Chip Starnes and Dr. Charles Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 2, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m., at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Morrow, Steve Hannah, Mathew Vickery, Joey Vickery, Bubba Reed and Darrell Harrison.
