Helen Griffin, born Sept. 8, 1921 in Minneapolis, died March 28, 2009 in Foley.
She married Don Griffin and they had three children. They relocated to Kenneth City, Fla. in the St. Petersburg area in 1957. She moved to New Port Richey in 1999 then to Josephine in 2005.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Collene Tyrone in 1975 and her husband, Don Griffin in 1983.
Survivors include son, Patrick (Carol Lee) Griffin of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, JoAn (Rick) of Josephine; sisters, Mary Steen of Oconomowe, Wis., and Irene Bittner of Shakopee, Minn.; 10 grandchildren, Gayle (Danny) Sopko of St. Petersburg, Drew (Fran) Griffin of Holly Springs, N.C., Glen (Diane) Griffin of Pembroke, Bermuda, Emily Griffin (Patrick) Hayes of Orlando, Fla., Dr. John Tyrone (Cheryl) of Gainesville, Fla., Deborah Tyrone (Todd) Lyons of Clearwater, Fla., Jeffrey Tyrone of Seminole, Eric, Griffin and Sarah Day of Josephine; and 10 great-grandchildren, Corrie and Abbie Sopko of St. Petersburg, Alex, Kaylie, Taylor and Sean Griffin of Pembroke, Bermuda, Hunter Hayes of Orlando, Katie and Cammie Tyrone of Gainesville and Caleb Day of Josephine.
