Mildred Flowers “Miss Millie” Griffin, 78, a native of Lake City, S.C., and a long time resident of Fairhope, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, after a long battle with cancer.
She was a devoted wife and mother and beloved by so many in the Fairhope community. She was a member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Buddy Griffin of Fairhope; two sons, Richard Griffin, her tireless caregiver, of Fairhope, and Dr. Jimmy Griffin of Birmingham; four grandchildren, Desiree Griffin Bailey of Birmingham, Travis Bailey of Jacksonville, Casey Palmer of Auburn and Rebecca Cohen of Birmingham; five great-grandchildren, Millie and Tessa Bailey of Birmingham, Shawn, Connor, and Evin Bailey of Jacksonville; and two sisters, Mary Lee Roper and Sarah Evans, both of Columbia, S.C.
A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Fairhope United Methodist Church. Flowers and memorials may be sent to the church.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
