Marvin O’Neal Griggers, 77, of Robertsdale, died Thursday evening Aug. 14, 2008, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Monroe County, May 17, 1931 and lived most of his life in Pensacola, FL and Robertsdale.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Griggers; his father, Luther Griggers and brother, Donald Edward Griggers.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Stella Griggers; two children, Yolanda Smithee and John (Dava) Merritt, both of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Nall of Excel and Hellon Peavy of Goodway; two brothers, Laten Griggers of Monroeville and Johnny Griggers of Goodway; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.
Pallbearers include Jor Barnett, Christopher Smithee, O’Neal Jordan, Jerry Nall, Wes Nall, Leighton Griggers with honorary pallbearers being, Allen Griggers and Tommy Hobbs.
Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale.
