In Mrs. Tammy Shirley's First Grade Class at Gulf Shores Elementary, the students learned about transformation with shapes in Math. The children were given the directions to use a plastic Easter Egg and transform it into something else. The children were very creative and innovative. They transformed the plastic Easter Eggs into a mermaid, Patrick from SpongeBob Squarepants, and even Justin Bieber. The activity was transformed as well into a contest. The contest was judged by three 8th grade students from Gulf Shores Middle School in Mrs. Carpentar's class and they are pictured with winners of this contest. We so enjoyed the help from the older students. The children LOVED this "Eggstra Special Activity!"
