Despite three errors in the top of the seventh inning, the Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins were able to hold off Robertsdale for a 5-4 win on Tuesday.
Dolphins pitcher Cortney Brannon went the distance for Gulf Shores, striking out seven Lady Bear batters along the way, giving up only five hits and walking one.
After shutting down Robertsdale in the first inning, Amber Parks led off the bottom of the inning with a single, and later scored off of a hit by Kay Kay Grocholl.
The Dolphins got a spark from second baseman Sarah Uter in the bottom of the second when she led off with an inside the park homerun.
Both teams added a run in the fifth inning, making the game 3-1.
Robertsdale put another run on the board in the top of the sixth with an RBI single from Kayli Evans, but the Dolphins added two more runs thanks to a two RBI single from Aubrey Sumlin.
Robertsdale looked as if it might come back in the top of the seventh thanks to some fielding errors from the Dolphins, Carlee Jefferson and Roselee Coggin both scored, and one runner was left on base when the Dolphins made the final out.
Grocholl led the Dolphins offensively, going 3-for-4, including a double and two RBIs. Amber Parks also went 3-for-4.
