Julian S. Guarisco, 82, a native and resident of Daphne, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at a local hospital.

He earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Auburn University and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Alabama Power Company and was a former resident of Birmingham. He retired to Daphne in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Agostino and Mary Lazzari Guarisco; two brothers, Joseph A. Guarisco and A.Victor Guarisco, and three sisters, Mary S. Guarisco, Anna G. Allegri and Helen G. Posey.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Pearl “Pat” Holobaugh Porter Guarisco; brother, Alfred (Joan) Guarisco; three sisters, Theresa G. Lynch, Angele “Teeny” (Red) Trione and Cecelia G. Wood; two daughters, Cynthia (Ed) Ernest and Ruth P. Martin; two sons, Paul (Irene) Porter and Dean (Renie) Porter; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial aat 11 a.m. Monday, June 15 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Guarisco Family Plot, Belforest Catholic Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 19059 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL 36532.
