GULF SHORES, Ala., — The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival has submitted an idea to receive a Pepsi “Refresh the Gulf” grant to assist in funding the 26th Annual Songwriters Festival to be held Nov. 11-21.
The Pepsi Refresh Project is giving away an extra $1.3 million to help fund ideas that will help the Gulf communities.
One of the goals of the festival is to help fund the Frank Brown International Foundation for Music, a nonprofit whose mission is to bring songwriters into the classrooms and nursing homes to help expand the minds of our children and elderly, to create music for them to physically see the person behind a song they know and love and to let the children know they too have the capability and the opportunity to enhance lives through their own words and music.
The group’s idea made it to the finals and needs help to obtain this $50,000. There are 278 total ideas in the running for the Gulf contest and only 10 entries will win in the $50,000 category. Voting started Monday and there are only 26 days left to vote. Finalists will be announced Sept. 2.
To vote, go to www.refresheverything.com, click on the $50,000 tab, scroll down to the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival and vote. You can vote once per day.
