The 1st annual Snowbird 8-Pin Tap Bowling Tournament was held on Wednesday, February 13, at the Gulf Bowl in Foley, AL, with ten 4-person coed teams participating.

Bowlers from WI, MI, MN and AL competed for the highest 3-game total.  Four bowlers rolled five "300" games -  Cap Peavey (2), Larry Ranshaw (1), Cal Thuot (1) and Ray Denton (1).  The ladies' high game of 297 was bowled by Mrs.Vicki Brendemuhl.

The winning team of Larry Ranshaw, Ray Denton, Diane Pearson and John Johnson  chose to give their $213 first prize award to Christian Services.  Linda Chappelle, President of the Board of Directors for Christian Services, accepted the check on Tuesday, February 19, at the Gulf Bowl lanes.

"The area Snowbird group thanks all our participants for the terrific support of the first all-snowbird-club tournament," said Snowbirds spokeslady Nancy Durgin.  "Everyone enjoyed an exciting afternoon.  Thank you to the Gulf Bowl for hosting the event and a big THANK YOU to the staff for all of their help and support. Tony and Linda Schwanda look forward to seeing more competition at next year's event!"
