Christmas is just around the corner and the City of Gulf Shores is once again gearing up to celebrate with a full array of holiday events. Whether it’s marveling at the magical glow of the lighted parade or the Baldwin Pops Christmas Concert, families young and old are invited to join in the excitement of the season.

“The City of Gulf Shores is proud to be partnering with the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and local businesses in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to promote the Coastal Christmas campaign,” said Grant Brown, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Director. “We encourage all businesses to participate by decorating for the season to help our community become an unforgettable holiday destination.”

Gulf Shores Lighted Christmas Parade & Beach Celebration 

Gulf Shores will kick off its holiday festivities on Friday, December 4 with the Lighted Christmas Parade and Beach Celebration. The evening parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature festive lighted floats, celebrity judges, as well as appearances from holiday characters and marching bands. Large crowds of spectators looking to bask in the holiday spirit are anticipated along Highway 59 as parade entries make their way from Clubhouse Drive to the Gulf Shores Public Beach.

The magical atmosphere from the parade will roll continuously into the night as a celebration at the Gulf Shores Public Beach will kick off immediately following the parade. Families can enjoy pictures with Santa, holiday treats, crafts and much more.

“We introduced the lighted parade two years ago and it was an overwhelming success,” said Programs and Events Manager, Brigette Reynolds. “The atmosphere throughout the night is truly magical and we’re looking forward to this year being our largest event yet.”

Reynolds noted that anyone interested in entering the parade can do so by registering online or by contacting Brian Dugall at 251-968-1173. The deadline to register for the parade is November 20.

Community Christmas Chorus

Gulf Shores continues its holiday celebration at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 10 at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center as local choirs present A Community Christmas Chorus. This free performance is a ticketed show and will begin at 7 p.m. inside the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center.

Free tickets for the show will be available beginning November, 23 at 8 a.m. online or at the City Store box office on a first come, first serve basis. The box office is located at 1821 Gulf Shores Parkway and office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Baldwin Pops Christmas Concert 

On Tuesday, December 15, the City of Gulf Shores will open its doors to host the Baldwin Pops Band for a Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center. The Baldwin Pops Band is an organization of volunteer musicians from Baldwin and surrounding counties. This free performance is a ticketed show and will begin at 7 p.m. inside the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center.

Breakfast with Santa

Children will have one last minute chance to visit with Santa on Saturday, December 19 as Gulf Shores hosts Breakfast with Santa at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center. Beginning at 8 a.m., families can dive into a wholesome breakfast complete with sausage, bacon, eggs and pancakes before having pictures taken with Santa. Admission for Breakfast with Santa is $5.00, while children 3 and under are free.
