Gulf Shores responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning and extended the lead to 6-1 after three innings. Kelsey Boone had an RBI single in the fiftth and Boone, Margaret Lloyd and Rebecca Holcombe had RBIs in the sixth to close out the 13-3, 10-run rule win.
"We played much better than we were this past weekend in Tuscaloosa," Powell said. "The girls were focused, we pitched well and played really good defense. We swung the bats really well tonight. We made them pay for the mistakes they made. I'm really, really proud of the girls tonight."
