TALLASSEE – The Gulf Shores Dolphins advanced to the second round of the 5A state playoffs with a 17-13 win over Region 2 champion Tallassee on Friday night.

John David Swiger had an interception that sealed the win for the Dolphins, who improved to 9-2 overall under new head coach Mark Freeman.

The Dolphins will play LeFlore at Ladd-Stadium next week in a second round game. Gulf Shores defeated LeFlore in a regular season game earlier this year.
