GULF SHORES, Ala. — Two fundraisers, one Friday at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church, are planned to help Jacob Mogan’s family with medical expenses following a freak stroke to his spinal cord.
Jacob, 13, attends Gulf Shores Middle School. On May 29,h tragically had a stroke on his spinal cord. This rare occurrence has left him paralyzed from his midsection down to his toes. Current Doctors have told Jacob’s parents, Matt and Belinda, that the very best facility to address Jacob’s case is The Shepherd Center for Spinal Cord Injury in Atlanta. (www.shepherd.org). Jacob has been accepted into The Shepherd Center.
Today there will be a spaghetti dinner with the proceeds going toward medical expenses. The dinner will be from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church next to McDonald’s. Plates are $8.
On July 3 supporters will offer Boston butts and St. Louis style slabs of ribs. The butts will be $35 apiece and a slab of ribs, including bread and sauce, will cost $25.

“The Jacob Mogan Fund” has been set up to allow friends to help with the tremendous expenses. Donations can be made at any Centennial Bank location in any amount.

The goal is to remove all possible stress and worry from Matt, Belinda, and younger sister Jenna so they can concentrate completely on Jacob’s rehabilitation and recovery . Matt and Belinda will stay by Jacob’s side in Atlanta throughout this process.
