The October program of the Gulf Shores Garden Club, on ferns, was given by one of its own members, Jimmie Van Valkenburgh, who shared her extensive and delightful collection and information with club members. She also handed out a list of “tips” for growing ferns in this area and her favorite ferns. The Gulf Shores Garden Club meets the first Wednesday of each month — September through May at the Harry Roberts Center at Gulf Shores at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and social time and 10 a.m. for business and program. New members are welcomed.
