The Gulf Shores High School basketball program held a youth basketball clinic free of charge to the youth of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach on Dec. 4 in ‘The Tank.’
“We had a tremendous turnout of about 80 kids and I really believe they all had a blast,” Gulf Shores High School coach Dru Powell said. The clinic focused on the fundamentals of the game such as dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense. “I would like to thank the cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach for their assistance with the clinic,” Powell said. “We had a clinic very similar last year and it is exciting to see the kids so excited about the game of basketball.”
The clinic featured several GSHS players that assisted the youth, including Nicole Wallace, Brandon Silvers, Kendall Annan, Michael Swiger, Jon Jon Frizzel, Drew Murray, and Cameron Gottfried. Coach Powell and girls coach Rhett Tranchina directed the clinic.
