Gulf Shores investigating death of Foley officer

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Gulf Shores Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the death investigation of 37 year-old Foley Police Officer Alysia Ruth Park of Silverhill. 

On Sunday at 12:59 a.m., officers received a radio call of a possible gunshot victim at the public beach parking lot near the 100 block of East Beach Boulevard. The comments of the call indicated that the person may be the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Paramedics from the Gulf Shores Fire department responded and Park was flown to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Florida where she eventually died from her injuries. 

Based on their investigation up to this point, GSPD Detectives are investigating this death as a suicide.  Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt.
