At Gulf Shores Middle School, our library has a wide selection of books.
Some of the books we would recommend are, “Speak,” “The Princess Diaries” series, or the “Clique” series for girls.
For boys we recommend the “Warriors” series, any books by the author Gary Paulsen, or the “Eragon” series.
The library has all kinds of books for schoolwork, essays, etc. It has magazines to read and computers to search for books, do school work, and take AR tests.
The librarians are Leticia Teal and Brandy Roberts. The students working as library aides are Micayla Edler, Megan Metz, Kristen House, Holly Blair, Dustin Jones, Joseph Callaway, Melissa LaBorde, and Taylor Madison.
Open at 8 a.m.
Students are allowed in the library starting Monday. It is opens from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Orientation for the literature classes are on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
“You are welcome to come in at break or lunch to do homework or read,” says Teal.
If you turn in a book late, then you will owe a fee. If you need copies, there is a copier in the library. Each page you copy is 10 cents each. There is also a printer, if you need to print out a report or essay, it will cost you money to do so.
Tohamas Patton, an eighth-grade student at GSMS, says “The library is a nice quiet place to read or do homework.”
If you need help finding a book in the library, a librarian or a library aide will be happy to help you. You should check out a book at the library, there is always something for everyone. For those of you who are new to the middle school, the library is located near the office and the cafeteria.
