Welcome to Gulf Shores Middle School, Home of the Dolphins.

“It’s another great year,”  Principal Phillip Fountain says.  There are some spectacular events coming up throughout the year.  Mark your calendar for homecoming Sept. 23.

Also, the first open house was coming up Sept. 7.  Volleyball practice is on Mondays and Thursdays.

If you are still interested in Cross Country,  see Roger Reetz, Room 108, for more information.

The Annual Shrimp Festival is going to be held on Friday, Oct. 29.  This is always a fun event for the whole family.

Last but not least, school pictures will be taken on Sept. 24.  Be sure and look your best.

Some of you have probably been wondering why some of the teachers changed to different rooms.  It is because of all the Gulf Shores Elementary students that came this year.  To help alleviate overcrowding in the elementary school, our school  is now home to the elementary art and music classes, as well as two first-grade classes and one other class.

When Principal Fountain was asked how school was going so far.  He responded, “School is going great so far.  The students know the high expectations of responsibility, learning, and having better behavior by the end of the year.

Fountain has some goals to fulfill just like all of the students. His goals for this year are to help student’s progress in academics, behavior, and being social to one another.

According to the records, this year there are a total of 393 students enrolled in seventh and eighth grade.  Last year there were a total of 379, an increase of 14 students.
