ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Please be advised that the City of Orange Beach will be closing Highway 182 (Perdido Beach Boulevard) within the city limits of Orange Beach, Alabama to vehicular traffic on Friday and Saturday from as early as 5 p.m. until as late as 8:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday from as early as 1:30 p.m. until as late as 4 p.m. for Mardi Gras Parades.

In Gulf Shores, Highway 59 will be closed from Clubhouse Drive heading south to the Gulf Shores Public Beach from 9:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday for the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade.

Route for Friday, starts at 6:30pm at the traffic light at Wintzells, proceeds east along Hwy 182, ends at Hwy 161. The route for Saturday starts at 5:30pm at the traffic light at Wintzells, proceeds east along Hwy 182, ends at Zekes Marina.

Route for Sunday, starts at 6 p.m. at Main Street at the Wharf, proceeds north and south along Main Street at the Wharf, ends at south Wharf parking lot.

Route for Tuesday, starts at 2pm at the traffic light at Wintzells, proceeds east along Hwy 182, ends at Hwy 161.

Please be advised to expect heavy traffic congestion along Hwy 161, Hwy 182 (Perdido Beach Blvd) and Canal Road prior to and after the scheduled parade times.

As of noon Friday all parades are scheduled to roll as planned. Any decisions regarding weather will be done the day prior to the parade.

The City of Orange Beach Fat Tuesday parade starts at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. If necessary, the parade start time may be adjusted due to weather. Current forecasts show a chance of rain for that day.

If the parade has to be canceled due to weather, it will not be rescheduled for another day. Any decision regarding weather related rescheduling of the start time will be made on Monday, Feb 11, afternoon.
