GULF SHORES, Ala. — First Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores will host its first Arts & Crafts Fair, Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m-3 p.m.. The church is located at 309 E. 21st Ave. in Gulf Shores. Proceeds will benefit the Shawl Ministry.
Local crafters will be joined by many of our talented seasonal residents. Light refreshments will be available for purchase during fair hours, including several soups from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Lorna Baker, who spends most of the year in Michigan, began the prayer shawl ministry at the church. This is the third winter that women will gather to make the shawls which are given out to anyone dealing with a serious health problem.
Although many of the shawls are given out to folks with a connection with the church, many others are given to people who do not have a church home. The shawl is a physical comfort as well as a reminder that others are holding them in prayer.
The Arts & Crafts Fair will provide funds to purchase yarn and other supplies. Call Jean Adcock 251-974-3148 or email jeanadcock@aol.com.
