GULF SHORES, AL - The City of Gulf Shores would like to make all residents aware that live Christmas trees will be picked up with normal yard debris pickup services, sorted and taken to the State Park for recycling. You can also drop off your live, undecorated tree at the State Park Saltwater Pavillion.

The city would also like to make all residents aware of the revised trash pickup schedule, recycling pickup schedule and yard trash pickup schedule beginning Jan. 1.

Every five years the City of Gulf Shores renews the residential garbage franchise. Prior to renewal, the City evaluates the franchise to be competitive with current industry standards. We determined that the majority of the surrounding communities have once-a-week garbage and recycling collection. These standards have been incorporated into our residential garbage franchise and will go into effect Jan. 1.

Beginning Jan. 1 the City will be offering once a week garbage and recycling collection (excluding the weekly rental overlay district which remains unchanged). Carts should be out the night before or by 6 a.m. the day of service.
