GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The seniors at DayBreak Senior Day Care were recently visited by members of the Treasures of the Isle as the Krewe made its second annual Goodwill Mardi Gras Tour.

Pictured here from the left, enjoying the reverie of the Mardi Gras celebration, are Rocky Portanova of DayBreak and Cheryl Lanning of Treasures of the Isle.

The Goodwill Tour aims to provide a special Mardi Gras celebration for those in our community who may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy this holiday.  Everyone had a great time and all the seniors received gifts.

DayBreak Senior Day Care provides a secure, loving environment where individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia are encouraged to participate in playing games, craft projects, singing, exercising and social interaction.

It is offered every Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is located in Room 109 at the South Campus of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Those interested in learning about becoming a part of DayBreak as a volunteer, a participant, or a benefactor should contact Dolly Crewes at 251- 968-3634 or email dollycrewes@gmail.com or Amelia Fletcher at 251-968-2411 or Amelia@gulfshoresumc.org.
