Grace Schuessler, an eighth grade student at Gulf Shores Middle School has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition sponsored by the Gulf Shores Lions Club.
"Being peaceful shouldn't be a life goal, it should be a way of life", the thirteen year old from Gulf Shores said. The Peace Poster was selected by local artist for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, "Vision of Peace".
Schuessler's poster will advance through the district, multiple district and international levels of competition is she is to be declared the international grand prize winner.
