Posted

At Monday’s regular city council meeting in Gulf Shores, the council will vote on awarding a grass mowing and landscape contract to Executive Landscaping, Inc., of Pensacola in the amount of $137,970.

Included in the contract is large scale row mowing along Hwy 59, north of the Intracoastal waterway, along Alabama 180 from Orange Beach to Fort Morgan, the industrial park, Plash Island and any county roads within the Gulf Shores corporate limits.

In addition, the contract includes sweeping of the Fort Morgan bike path and as-needed shoulder sweeping of Highways 182 and 180.

On March 1, sealed bids for the contract were opened and Executive Landscaping presented the lowest bid. This contract was previously held by Pensacola Landscape and Lawn Care. Funding for this contract is included in the street division’s operating budget for 2011, and the approved budget amount was $105,000.
