The Island Band Foundation will be holding its Thanksgiving Turkey & Boston Butt sale until Nov. 12. The following food items can be purchased: Smoked Boston Butts (approximately 8 pounds) for $25; Smoked Turkey (approximately 14 pounds) for $25; Fried Turkey (approximately 14 pounds) for $25; Fried Turkey is fried in peanut oil. All items purchased may be picked up and paid for at James E. Fight the UNBELIEVABLE cost of Homeowner’s Insurance! Come to a meeting with Alabama Legislators to let them know how important it is to solve the Homeowner’s insurance crisis!  Come to First Baptist Church in Foley at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 (211 West Violet Ave., Foley). Senators Pittman and Brooks, plus representatives McMillan, Davis and Faust will attend and will commit to help you. Junior Woman’s Club Christmas on the Coast Shopping Market will be held at the Erie Myer Civic Center, Nov. 21-22 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Businesses already signed up for booths include Flowers by the Shore, Scarlet Begonias, Chocolate Corner, Dinah’s Shore Shop, Mud Puddles Children’s Boutique, Magnolias, Seaside Shoes, Lesley Skipper’s, Tickled Pink and Advocare International. The United Methodist Women from Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church will be hosting a Spaghetti Supper on Nov. 20, from 4-7 p.m. You may eat in or take out. There will be plenty of great food, including dessert. Donations are $7 for adults and $4 for children. Morgan’s Chapel is located on County Road 10 in Bon Secour opposite Swift School. National best-selling author Joe Galloway will sign copies of his latest book, “We are Soldiers Still: A Journey Back to the Battle Fields of Vietnam”, from 3-5 p.m., Nov. 22, at the Gulf Shores Books-A-Million. Unroll the tent, fire up the grill and sport your team’s colors at the first “Pre-Iron Bowl Flag Football and Tailgate Competition”. The Parks and Recreation Department of the city of Gulf Shores invites anyone 19 years and up to come out to the Sportsplex on County Road 6 on Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. for a co-ed flag football competition. Whether it's “War Eagle” or “Roll Tide”, teams for the flag football game will be chosen on site. The Tailgate Competition includes honors for “Best Food” and “Most Team Spirit”. Bring out your favorite Team Tailgate dishes and practice those football cheers. No alcohol please. The Ohio Snowbird Club kicks off another winter season beginning in December for early arrivals with breakfast gatherings scheduled for Dec. 3 and 17 at Hazel’s Orange Beach at 8 a.m. Beginning in 2009, breakfast meetings will be held on Jan. 7 and 21; Feb. 4 and 18; and March 4 and 18 at Lulu’s in Gulf Shores with doors opening at 8 a.m. For more information or questions, call Gayle at 251-540-7745 or email at gayliano13@embarqmail.com.

Free Flu Shots will be held Dec. 4 from 9-11:30 a.m. at FIrst Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores, 309 E. 21st Ave. Come early as supplies are limited. The event is hosted by Christian Service Center and Sacred Heart Health System’s Mission in Motion Team.
