Walter Collier Hall Jr., 81, a native of Atmore and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at his residence.

He retired as Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army where he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a life member of DAV, VFW, American Legion and MOCA.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Martha Thomley Hall of Bay Minette; 10 children, John (Stephanie) Hall of Mobile, Charlotte Hall (Richard) Cravey of Bay Minette, Jimmie (Irene) Hall of Lawton, Okla., Debra Hall of Bay Minette, Pamela Thomley (Eric) Kline of Phenix City, Daniel (Tammy) Thomley of Loxley, Samuel Thomley of Loxley, Clifton Thomley of Loxley, Lisa (Scott) Vinson of Bay Minette, and Aaron Thomley of Richman, Texas; cousin, George Hall of Stapleton; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, July 30 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Friday, July 31 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Sanders officiating. Interment, with full military honors rendered by the Ft. Rucker Honor Guard, followed at Bratt-Godwin Cemetery in Bratt, Fla.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Crossroads Church of God, 10777 County Road 138, Bay Minette, AL 36507.
