Hank Becker to appear Dec. 5 at Windmill Market “brown bag” concert

FAIRHOPE, Ala. - Longtime local favorite singer-songwriter Hank Becker will appear this Friday at Windmill Market in Fairhope for one of the last “brown bag”concerts of the year.

“We’ve extended the ‘brown bag’ series through Dec. 17,” said Chris Penton, of WZEW radio station, regarding the popular lunchtime concert series that began in Mobile’s Bienville Square more than two decades ago.

The Fairhope “brown bag” event moved from the local campus of Faulkner State Community College to Windmill Market this year, said Penton, adding that two restaurants there provide food and beverages on site, and that the permanent stage with comfortable seating makes for an attractive venue for performers.

The free lunchtime concert events in Fairhope, Daphne and Mobile are run by Katt Sirten, well known for his Sunday morning jazz and evening Radio Avalon shows on 92-ZEW at 92.1 FM radio.

Friday’s concert with Hank Becker at Windmill Market runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Penton said.
