BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for North Baldwin County for Monday and a hard-freeze warning for the region for Monday night.
According to the warning, temperatures in the area will drop to below freezing shortly after sunset Monday, “approaching 20 degrees in most areas by sunrise Tuesday.”
Such temperatures are expected to cause a hard freeze between midnight Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday for the area.
According to the National Weather Service, residents in and around Bay Minette are advised to check on the elderly and to “protect pets, pipes and plants.”
After reaching a high of 47 degrees today, the temperature is expected to drop to 22 degrees tonight and will be accompanied by 5 mph winds from the north.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for early wind chills of 25-35 before the temperature warms to 55 degrees.
