Harold Lloyd Russell, born in Fayette County, Alabama to parents John W. and Zora P. Russell, married to Alice Bullock Russell, lost his valiant fight with cancer on Dec. 16, 2017.
Harold and Alice spent every possible moment together with the same interests in life. Harold graduated from Murphy High School and attended Spring Hill College and University of Maryland, Far East.
He served in the Army Security Agency for three years and with the Army Corps of Engineers for 37 years as recruitment and employees relations at Huntsville, Alabama, Okinawa, Cape Canaveral, Florida and Mobile, Alabama, where he received several awards and recognitions.
Harold was an avid runner for many years, loved all types of music and enjoyed feeding his birds and taking care of his fruit trees.
Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, John W., Thomas; and sisters, Clara and Eunice.
He is survived by his wife Alice Bullock Russell; sons, Harold Jr. "Butch" (Courtney), Robert Alan (Rhonda); along with the love of his life, 10-year-old granddaughter, Georgia Allyn Russell. He is also survived by his two brothers, Horace and Gene; and sister, Geraldine.
A visitation will be held on Dec. 20, 2017 from 11 am until 12 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne.
Graveside services will be held on Dec. 20, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
