Harriet Cox Cockrell, 81, of Orange Beach, passed away March 9, 2014.
She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, and retired from the Mississippi School System after many years of being a schoolteacher.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne P. Cockrell of Orange Beach; two daughters, Naomi Sanders of Fairhope and Evelyn Ballard of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Wayne P. Cockrell Jr. of Fairhope and Mike Cockrell of Laurel, Miss.; a brother, Alvin C. Cox of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Mary Clair Russo of Virginia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cockrell’s memorial service was Friday March 15, 2014 from the Harriet Cockrell Community Center on Ono Island in Orange Beach.
The family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
