Sarah Jeter Harris, 85, b orn Feb. 16, 1923 in Monroe County, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Columbia, SC.
and was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Jeter and Bradie Turberville Jeter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pershing Harris, and her parents Joseph Franklin Jeter and Bradie Turberville Jeter.
She is best remembered for being a loving, devoted wife, a loyal mother, and a grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren. Her grandchildren adored her. She had a passion for her family, gardening and cooking. She was the best cook in town.
She was a member of Jubilee Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed sharing God’s love with others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two sons Herbert (SuMica) Harris of Birmingham and Kynn (Lorie) Harris of Columbia, S.C.; grandsons, Joseph Harris of Birmingham, Spencer, Christopher and Jamie Harris of Columbia.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne. Burial will follow at Mineola Cemetery.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Jubilee Baptist Church Building Fund, 9264 Pleasant Road, Daphne, AL 36526.
