Ruth Newell Harris, 88, a native of Waverly and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at a local medical facility.
She was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church. Special thanks to the staff and nurses of Mercy Medical, Caring Ministries of Fairhope United Methodist Church and Passion Mantinez.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larkin H. Harris and son Henry N. Harris/
Survivors include four devoted children, Bobby (Barbara) Harris and Tommy (Wanda) Harris, both of Fairhope, Bill (Judy) Harris of Foley and Libby (Steve) Jones of Birmingham; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Harris of Fairhope; brother, Joe (Doris) Newell of Bay Minette; grandchildren, Scott (JoAnna) Harris, Shawn (Scott) Eastman, Janay Harris, Ben (Lauren) Harris, Holly (Cory) Thomas, Hayley Harris, Bill (Stephanie) Harris, Bebe Colthup, Jason Harris, Dustin Harris and Aaron Jones; and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17 at Fairhope United Methodist Church, South Section Street. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Building Fund of Fairhope United Methodist Church, 155 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL. 36532.
